Blinds in Sandown
Sandton-fringe apartments and clusters, where roller blinds go up fast and look sharp against aluminium frames.
Sandown is the most vertical of the suburbs we cover: apartments, duplexes and clusters, often with aluminium window frames and tight reveals. Roller blinds suit that architecture almost perfectly — a slim tube, a cassette, one clean flat face, nothing that fights the frame it sits in.
Height changes the brief. Higher floors get more sky and more glare, and the sun arrives without a tree or a wall to soften it, so sunscreen fabrics tend to do more work here than they do at ground level. It also makes motorisation more attractive: a blind above a stairwell landing or across a double-volume window is not a thing anyone wants to reach for twice a day.
Where a unit is formal enough to want warmth, timber venetians earn their place in a lounge or study — and aluminium goes into the kitchen and bathroom, where timber would not last.

Questions
Sandown questions
The ones people in this area actually ask us.
Do you fit blinds in apartments as well as houses?
Yes. Apartments bring their own constraints — tight reveals, aluminium frames, rules about the outside face — and all of those are ordinary working conditions for us.
What about a very high window?
Motorise it. A remote or a wall switch turns an unreachable blind into one you actually use, and it removes the cord entirely, which is safer in any case.
Do you need building management approval?
For interior blinds, usually only where the outside face is governed by the body corporate rules. For anything external, expect to need sign-off — and ask early.
